It’s hard to not follow whatever Madlib is putting down. He’s a legitimate hall of fame hiphop mogul. The features on here are notable; from DOOM, Oh No, Anderson Paak, Aloe Black, Hodgy Beats and even Mayer Hawthorne. Going in i’m a little worried this is going to be an average tired, old, processed and watery jazz affair. On first listen nothing is really standing out, it’s not outstanding. With all the talent on here they are collectively missing the mark and failing to break through their self governing boundaries.

The track ‘Mad Neighbour’ is one of the only tracks without any of the all star cast, and it’s the only track that’s really trying to do anything outside of albums kaupapa. It’s either that or i’m growing tired of boring rappers and boring beats. The album is a lost opportunity to break down monotony. Cuzzys may get into this that want that soulful, jazz, and smooth MC’s and there’s nothing wrong with that… it’s just boring. that’s all.
